Makers & Growers Market – Osborne House

YAY – A Farmers Market!  
I can’t tell you how cross I get with the quality of “fresh” fruit  and vegetables at the big supermarkets…why can’t I readily buy an apple that hasn't had its first birthday??!!

BUT joy-of-joys a brand new little farmers market has appeared in North Geelong with the freshest and widest variety of organic vegetables I’ve seen in a long time!

Set in the grounds of the historic Osborne House overlooking Corio Bay is a monthly makers and growers market featuring the one and only Spring Creek Organics. The produce is amazing with selections  like heirloom carrots and gorgeous Chioggia beetroot - candy stripe beetroot with pink and white rings.  Also on offer are delicious vegetarian tarts and produce by A Hidden Secret.  Who also sell the gorgeous Meredith Dairy marinated goats cheese for only $10 a jar!

Arriving on a brisk Geelong morning the sausage sizzle was in full swing and with coffee in hand (bought from a gorgeous converted postal truck) I immediately settled into the bustling market activity making my way around tasting everything from local olive oils to homemade relishes and cakes.

 The market will only grow and grow over time and this makes me
one happy little camper!
