Bonnie and Jeremy just happen to be bestest friends of mine and I was delighted to design beautiful clutches for her wedding day!
THEIR STORY...
Bonnie and Jeremy are high school sweethearts who have built a home and travelled the world together. Taking only six months to plan their classic vintage country wedding after Jeremy proposed on a romantic getaway to Hamilton Island, their lovely day features an elegant navy and grey palette, accessorised with stunning florals in soft pink and white. PLANNING...“Achieving such a big project in a short time frame was really satisfying – we really only had six months to plan. The other great part of a short time frame is that it doesn’t drag on forever! The day comes around quickly so it motivates you to keep on top of things.” FINDING THE DRESS...“The wedding dress search was surprisingly easy. I went to Marry Me Bridal with my sister-in-law and it was one of probably eight dresses that I tried on and definitely my favourite. It also happened to be on sale – what luck! The style is strapless as standard, but I contacted Wendy Makin direct to order extra lace for the keyhole back.” STYLING...“We kept it simple – the tables had tea light candles, a central floral arrangement and smaller arrangements at either end. Tri-fold table numbers had a menu and thank you message all in one. Jeremy’s mum was a florist in a previous life, so she did all the flowers for the church, which we reused at the reception on the bar, in the bathrooms and hanging from the bridal table chairs. I also did the seating charts using this free online template.” “We had a photo guest book with a Polaroid camera, asking guests to write messages next to their picture – we thought this was a really fun and relaxed way to fill the pages. Our wedding favours were boxed honey and chocolate coated prunes for guests, and jars of cherry jam from our home town for the bridal party.” For a closer look at all the gorgeous details and a full list of suppliers see The Wedding Playbook's beautiful feature here... | PERFECTLY PERSONALISED...“We are a pretty down to earth couple and don’t like a lot of fuss. I have also been known as an ‘old soul’, so there were always going to be hints of vintage, like lace, my grandma’s ring, the church from 1849. We are pretty time poor, so were happy to pay a little extra for a ‘one stop shop’.” BRIDAL PARTY LOOK...“Given that I was having lace on my dress, I wanted lace for the girls also. We thought we would embrace the Autumn chill and go for full length – they turned out to be perfect! Navy has always been a classic favourite for me so it was a given. We styled with pastel pink accessories – a ring, clutch and shoes. I wanted the groomsmen to contrast with the girls, so we went for a light grey option with tan belts and shoes and navy ties to match the bridesmaid dresses.” BEST ADVICE...1. Take the week before the wedding off work. No matter how on top of things you think you are, so much happens in that final week and you need to be able to give it your full attention.2. Forget nail polish and just go with Shellac! I had picked a beautiful nail polish but it rained the day before our wedding, and when I went to get them painted they just would not dry! I must have spent two valuable hours running around in the rain in thongs and not touching anything in the hope of not wrecking them. 3. Unless you are an Accountant or a budget geek you will go over budget – just take a deep breath and roll with it…it will all be ok. |
