Don't you love knowing talented people! A week ago today, I was fortunate enough to attend the Nexus Art Exhibition at Newcastle Grammar High Shcool. A longtime friend from university had been invited to exhibit her work - oh la la. I wasn't sure what to expect and I have to say I was blown away - especially by Donna's work. Us Mum's find it hard enough to find time to plan what's for dinner let alone concentrate and create something amazing. Here are my personal favourite paintings by Donna. My photography skills do not do them justice - they were big, bold and stunning in real life! It was also nice to be out and about and act like a real grownup if you know what I mean. Cute dress, high heels and champagne in hand. No spare undies in my clutch just in case my little one didnt make it to the toilet in time and no baby wipes for those runny noses. That's Donna on the left in the photo below - such a talent! (Oh and that's my clutch on the right - grey & white chevron available online at www.etsy.com/shop/sallyandjane) And to top the night off, Christine suggested we finish at Lotus Espresso for coffee. A fabulous choice as they are renown for the best desserts in Newcastle - the homemade mint and pistachio ice-cream is to die for. I had to have the chocolate pudding as it seemed to be beckoning me and I had in fact skipped dinner to allow such a treat. Sally one, diet zero!
